Gifted and Talented Program
At Twin Peaks K-8 School, we are committed to providing gifted learners with engaging, challenging, and meaningful educational experiences that inspire a lifelong love of learning. Our Gifted and Talented Program is designed to nurture students' unique strengths while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and academic growth. Through innovative instruction and personalized learning opportunities, students are empowered to explore their interests, deepen their understanding, and reach their fullest potential.
In the primary grades, gifted and talented students benefit from a nurturing learning environment that supports advanced abilities in reading, mathematics, and nonverbal reasoning. Instruction is designed to cultivate curiosity, encourage exploration, and promote deeper levels of understanding across content areas. Students are challenged to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, and engage in learning experiences that extend beyond grade-level expectations.
Beginning in third grade, students have the opportunity to participate in our Self-Contained Gifted Program. This specialized program provides differentiated educational experiences that emphasize higher-level thinking, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and creativity. Teachers create rigorous and engaging learning opportunities that challenge students academically while also supporting their social and emotional development. The program is designed to foster individual growth and help gifted learners develop the skills and confidence needed for future success.
A hallmark of learning at Twin Peaks K-8 is our commitment to Project Based Learning (PBL). Available to all students, PBL engages learners in authentic, real-world projects that connect academic content to meaningful experiences. Through collaboration, inquiry, and problem-solving, students develop essential skills while exploring topics that spark their interests. Our teachers have received specific training and implement Project Based Learning units at every grade level, ensuring students experience high-quality, hands-on learning throughout their educational journey.
